ToggleSurvey Insights: Key Motivators for Salespeople
Recently, I asked for your opinion on the key motivators crucial for salespeople, which determine their fruitful and long-lasting collaboration with a company – now it’s time for the survey results.
Survey Results: Factors Influencing Salespeople
First and foremost, I sincerely thank you for actively participating in the survey – I received a total of 97 votes and 52 comments, making the “focus group” highly reliable and sufficiently diverse.
- It turns out that for experienced traders and salespeople, financial conditions still play a crucial role – they are the most important for as many as 45% of them.
- For 37% of respondents, a key motivating factor for work is… good cooperation with their superior.
- 11% of respondents stated that job stability is a priority, and only 6% pointed out other factors, such as development opportunities, motivation, and respect for employees, organizational order, as well as discrepancies between declared values and business reality.
Decision-Making Based on Relationships
Many individuals, also in the comments, pointed out that in the case of two companies offering similar remuneration but with different atmospheres and relationships with superiors, the deciding factor for them would be better relationships. Both the survey results and my own observations and experience confirm that we are currently facing a significant qualitative change, which many companies still seem not to recognize.
Leadership Role in People-Centric Management
The role of those managing companies is to hire leaders in managerial positions who care about people as much as they care about business development. After all, a good employee typically leaves not the company but a bad manager!
