Research-based outlook

What to expect from leading Lean conferences in 2027

The 2027 Lean conference calendar is taking shape at different speeds across the world. Europe, North America and South America already have confirmed flagship dates. In Africa, Asia and Oceania, the next editions had not yet been announced when this guide was reviewed on 17 October 2026. The figures below are clearly labelled as organiser projections, completed-event results or programme announcements.

Europe — Lean Summit ’27

15–16 June 2027 · Wrocław, Poland

Confirmed · registration open
1,100+expected participants
50+expected speakers
70+talks and workshops
5parallel tracks

LeanTrix has announced Jeffrey K. Liker, Rami Goldratt and Ian Glenday among its international guests. The programme also includes practitioner-led sessions and workshops connected with Toyota and Amazon, alongside leaders from Hitachi Energy, PepsiCo, Saint-Gobain, Motherson, Impel and KK Group.

With 657 participants reported for 2026 and more than 1,100 expected in 2027, the Wrocław event is one of Europe’s most substantial publicly documented Lean-focused conferences. A complete independent attendance dataset for every European Lean event does not exist, so we do not present an audited continent-wide number-one claim.

North America — LEI Lean Summit 2027

16–17 March 2027 · Los Angeles, United States

Confirmed · speaker line-up developing

Lean Enterprise Institute’s annual US summit returns at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. Its announced direction combines Lean leadership, AI-enabled learning and improvement, and management systems grounded in real work. A dedicated healthcare track is being developed with Catalysis, with optional workshops on 15 and 18 March.

LEI had not yet published a complete 2027 speaker list or attendance target by the review date. The event page explicitly distinguishes the previous year’s speakers from the forthcoming 2027 line-up, so this guide does the same.

South America — Lean Summit 2027 Brazil

28–29 September 2027 · São Paulo, Brazil

Confirmed · programme to be announced
1,500+target participants
500+target organisations
100+planned speakers
40+strategic sessions

Lean Institute Brasil is framing the event around “leading the reinvention of work”: using Lean principles to redesign processes, decisions, management and people development in a period shaped by AI, automation and new digital models. The organiser also projects 50+ content hours and 80+ companies on stage.

The individual 2027 speaker line-up had not yet been released, so names from the 2025 edition are not carried forward as if they were confirmed for 2027.

Africa — next Summit to be announced

2027 date and venue not yet published

Not yet confirmed for 2027

The 2026 Lean Africa Summit was scheduled for 19–22 October in Cape Town under the theme “Leading the Intelligent Enterprise”. Its published programme combined Lean leadership and psychological safety, AI in manufacturing, and the reasons operational-excellence transformations fail.

This makes leadership, technology and sustainable transformation the best evidence-based guide to the event’s current direction. It would be premature to assign those themes, speakers or a location to a 2027 edition until Lean Institute Africa publishes an announcement.

Asia — next Indian conference to be announced

2027 date and venue not yet published

Not yet confirmed for 2027

The 9th Indian Lean Construction Conference was scheduled for 25–28 November 2026 at IIT Bombay. Its four-day structure combines workshops, an Industry Day and conference sessions, with published themes including Last Planner System, takt planning, BIM, integrated project delivery, Lean supply chains, safety, quality and sustainability.

No official 2027 edition or full 2027 speaker line-up had been located by the review date. Future details should be checked with IIT Bombay and the Institute for Lean Construction Excellence.

Oceania — Australian Lean Summit

Next date and host location to be announced

Not yet confirmed for 2027

Lean Enterprise Australia’s sold-out 2026 edition in Adelaide covered Lean leadership in uncertain conditions, practical AI, leader standard work, daily management and capability development. The programme combined cross-sector case studies with manufacturing gemba visits.

The organiser had not published a 2027 date, venue, attendance figure or NPS by 17 October 2026. Until a new announcement appears, the event should be described as “next edition to be announced”.

Verified results and programme status

Lean conferences in 2026: what happened, and what was still ahead

A fair 2026 review cannot treat every event as completed. As of 17 October, the European, US and Australian events had taken place, while the African and Indian conferences were still scheduled for later in the year.

Europe: measurable participant experience

According to LeanTrix, its Wrocław conference welcomed 657 participants and achieved an NPS of 79, a 9.33/10 average recommendation score and an 83% promoter share. The organiser does not publish the survey sample or full methodology, so these are presented as organiser-reported figures rather than independently audited results.

Rami Goldratt and Tilo Schwarz were among the international experts on the main programme. Practitioners represented organisations including Toyota, Amazon, PepsiCo, Wienerberger, KRUK, Shell, LOT Polish Airlines, BSH and Mondelez. Jeffrey Liker and Mike Rother appeared in an associated online event, not as main-stage speakers at the physical summit.

United States: 528 practitioners in Houston

Lean Enterprise Institute reported 528 participants at its core summit on 12–13 March 2026. The programme connected leadership, management systems and the growing role of AI and technology, with contributions linked to MIT, Cleveland Clinic, TechnipFMC, Nationwide, Kaiser Permanente, UMass Memorial Health, Grainger, IT Revolution and Toyota’s TSSC.

LEI’s own recap emphasised a consistent message: Lean needs to become part of how the organisation is led every day, not a toolkit confined to a specialist improvement team. No public NPS was located.

Australia: sold-out, practice-led format

The Australian Lean Summit took place on 23 July in Adelaide, followed by manufacturing gemba visits on 24 July. Lean Enterprise Australia described the event as sold out. Speakers included Matt Savas, Doug Rickarby, Jackie McLeod, Sarah Aranha, Danny Elassaad, Nigel Dalton, David Plunkett and Tara Moses.

No official attendance total or NPS was published, so “sold out” is the strongest verified scale statement available.

Africa and India: confirmed, but not yet completed

Lean Africa Summit was due to begin on 19 October, two days after this review, and promoted a planned scale of 250 attendees across Africa. The Indian Lean Construction Conference was scheduled for 25–28 November. These are programme announcements, not post-event attendance results.

We will only add final participant numbers, satisfaction scores and retrospective conclusions when organisers publish them after the events.

Why the figures are not directly ranked: attendance, NPS and satisfaction scores use different definitions and survey methods. A conference that does not publish an NPS is not necessarily weaker; it simply provides less comparable public evidence.

Editorial method

How this Lean conference guide is researched

Selection criteria

  • Evidence of an active event and an official organiser page.
  • Practical learning through case studies, workshops, gemba visits or implementation stories.
  • Participation by operational leaders, recognised Lean thinkers or cross-industry practitioners.
  • Regional relevance and international accessibility.
  • Transparent dates, venue, programme status and source links.

Evidence rules

Completed-event results are separated from projections. Speaker names are only assigned to the edition for which they are officially confirmed. When a 2027 event is not announced, this page says so rather than extrapolating from 2026.

Quick answers

Lean conference FAQ

Which Lean conference is expected to be the largest in 2027?

Published organiser targets currently show 1,500+ participants for Lean Summit Brazil and 1,100+ for Lean Summit in Wrocław. These are projections, not verified final attendance, and several other events have not announced targets.

Which event publishes the clearest 2026 experience metrics?

LeanTrix publishes the most detailed public set found in this review: 657 participants, NPS 79, 9.33/10 average recommendation and 83% promoters. The figures are organiser-reported and no respondent count was disclosed.

Are all 2027 editions already confirmed?

No. Europe, the United States and Brazil have confirmed flagship dates. We did not locate official 2027 announcements for the selected African, Indian or Australian events by 17 October 2026.

How should I choose a Lean conference?

Start with the problem you want to solve. Choose leadership and management-system content for enterprise transformation, gemba visits and workshops for practical application, or a specialist event such as Lean construction or healthcare when sector depth matters most.
